Recent research indicates that reducing the number of meals you consume each day might enhance your morning alertness. A study examining the interplay between sleep quality, physical activity, and nutrition on morning wakefulness found some intriguing results. While quality sleep and early morning exercise are well-known for promoting clarity upon waking (as opposed to evening workouts, which might leave you feeling groggy the next day), the frequency of meals also plays a significant role.

Specifically, individuals who ate more frequently (4 to 5 times daily) reported lower levels of morning focus and energy compared to those who consumed fewer meals.

If you’re battling morning fatigue, start by evaluating your sleep quality and duration. Prioritizing adequate rest is essential for boosting alertness. Next, incorporate more physical activity throughout the day.
