Hitting the Gym is more than just building muscle

If you have a friend or family member who hasn't yet embraced weight lifting, this is the perfect article to share with them.

Recent research highlights that engaging in any amount of weight training can significantly reduce mortality risk. Scientists examined the habits of 216,000 adults over a 15-year period, discovering that those who incorporated weight training into their routines, even minimally, had a lower risk of death from all causes, including cardiovascular disease and cancer, compared to those who did no weight training at all.

This finding supports earlier studies that revealed resistance training for just 60 minutes per week could lower mortality risk by 33 percent. Another study indicated a 31 percent decrease in cancer mortality for those who engaged in such activities.

Perhaps the most surprising statistic? Despite these clear benefits, 75 percent of the 216,000 people studied did not participate in any form of resistance training.

It’s important to note that age or initial strength levels don't matter; any amount of resistance training can enhance your health and extend your lifespan. So, spread the word and encourage your loved ones to start lifting!
