Obesity

Well, nobody talks about the elephant in the room yet I’ve decided to take a step forward and expose my personal views on the matter. As time passes by we face more and more challenges in our daily lives. Quality and healthy food prices increase while the rhythm of living becomes faster day by day. People don’t have the time they once had to spend in the kitchen and cook healthy nor the time (they do have time but spend it elsewhere to be honest) to hit the gym and exercise. Now leaving all excuses behind you do have time but prefer to spend it on Netflix or anywhere else but to yourself and your health.

Obesity has become a worldwide concern since in the USA it’s the number 1 health issue and in Europe we face the same problem. From young ages parents in order to have some time give an Ipad to their children and feed them unhealthy & junk food. Are you crazy? We have created an obese society and as the problem was not enough there are magazines and influencers who are obese and are trying to “sell” that this is the new healthy. Well it is not healthy! Being morbidly obese takes 10-20 years from your life and brings a ton of other issues. From high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and many types of cancer you name it. We may be programmed to like fat and junk food. We may not want to suffer in the gym or spend our time doing some cardio (150 minutes a week of moderate cardio are recommended for optimal heart health and contribute to longevity) but by continuing to live the way you do will decrease your life span and create health issues in the long term.

As a person I consider obesity a serious health matter as it starts from children and expands to every age to men and women. We need to speak up and start taking action for ourselves because if we don’t nobody will do it for us. You need to start taking your life more seriously. Put the fork down and eat less in a calorie deficit, choose healthier food options and start doing some activity because when the problems start knocking the door, you’d better not ask “Why me?”! Yes that’s right! You! Because you took health for granted without doing anything for you. As I like to say we are all going to suffer. What are you willing to suffer for?

I hope this small article was a small eye opening post to make you more aware of the serious issue we face today in our society in all countries and start taking action!
